Signed 'Jan Wiegers' (lower right); framed under passe-partout behind glass. Unexamined out of the frame, slightly discoloured and foxed, black spot in the upper left corner (probably original condition), a small crease in the lower left and one in the centre right, else apparently in good condition.
Provenance: Private collection; Sotheby's, Amsterdam, 1999. Notes: Jan Wiegers was a member of the artists expressionist association 'De Ploeg'. During the artist's stay in Davos, Switzerland, in the early 1920s, Wiegers befriended and was influenced by the art of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880 - 1938), member of the artists group ‘Die Brücke’.
