Name of the artist added in the lower left (probably in a different hand), with a 19th century French label reading 'Johannes Bosboom' and a description of the scene (on the reverse); framed in gilded frame. Edges slightly rubbed by the frame, some minor inpaint, else in very good condition.
Notes: This delightful painting shows the vast interior of De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. The artist depicts the moment when the orphans are exiting the church. The characteristic red and white uniform of the Burgerweeshuis adds a beautiful colour accent to this composition.
