Beschrijving
Heightened with pastel, signed 'W.H. Paradies' (lower left); framed behind glass in contemp. frame (sl. damaged). Unexamined out of the frame, pinholes in the upper corners, sl. cockled, vague stains in the depiction of the sky, else apparently in good condition.
Notes: In the first few decades of the 20th century, impressionist Herman Paradies painted topographical cityscapes of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. His impressions of Rotterdam before the Second World War, with its bridges and canals, are especially charming.
