Notes: From the 'Schuldige Landschaft' series. According to Armando, a guilty landscape - Schuldig Landschap - is a beautiful landscape where dreadful events took place in the past. Appearing innocent at first, a guilty landscape bears the weight of such horrors as mass murders, concentration camps, and wars. The expression 'schuldig landschap' is so profound and meaningful that it became a neologism and is now commonly used in Dutch.
