Note: Imandt is known for his beautiful Indonesian landscapes, just as his contemporaries Leo Eland (1884-1952), Carel Lodewijk Dake jr. (1886-1946), Gerard Pieter Adolfs (1897-1968) and Ernest Dézentjé (1884-1972). Imandt differs from these by his use of strong pastel colourite. His exquisite mastery of aerial perspective is shown in this work, by its idyllic paddy fields and the mighty volcano in the far distance.
