Beschrijving
Signed 'Kees de Goede', titled, dated and inscribed 'Made in Holland' (on the stretcher), in the original wooden crate (sl. worn as usual) with inscriptions and stickers all over. Artwork in good condition.
Dimensions: box: 122 x 113 x 25 cm. Provenance: Private collection; Galerie Nouvelles Images, The Hague.
Notes: "Takken-werk!". This three-dimensional painting is bursting into the space around it, articulated both with bright colour shapes and with tactile outlines of wood branches under the canvas. The artist refers to his passion for natural elements in his statement: "In his art, De Goede does not aim to reproduce nature but rather to work in close alliance with it... Using what he comes across and what astonishes him, new images take form, synergising with the encountered materials or subjects. Pieces are characterised by a suggestion of movement and the infinite, especially in the cases where De Goede has constructed his frames from bamboo or branches, thereby freeing the work from the traditional plane of the canvas".
