Beschrijving
Artificial hair on black textile, signed, dated and titled 'Henk Peeters '02 Sarah-4' (on the reverse), signed and dated again (on the stretcher), inscribed with title, design date, design number '02', production date, and edition number '4/5' (in the artist's stamp on the stretcher), dedicated 'Voor Sarah!' (on the stretcher). Very good condition.
Provenance: Collection Sarah van der Pols; a gift from the artist, c. 2002. Notes: Henk Peeters belonged to the Dutch Nul-movement, which existed from 1960 till 1965. Other members were Armando (1929), Jan Henderikse (1937), Herman de Vries (1931) and Jan Schoonhoven (1914 - 1994). The key characteristics of the Nul-art are rough materials, simplicity and monochrome colours. There seems to be no boundary between painting and sculpture. This particular series is named after the present owner.
